- Roxane Gay’s 2014 novel An Untamed State (Grove Press) has been optioned to be a Fox Searchligh film. The film will be directed and cowritten by Gina Prince-Bythewood.
- Buzzfeed Fellow Niela Orr pens a personal essay about being an emerging writer while working for Instacart and ties together the value of labor, the writing life, and her family’s history.
- Leigh Stein defends young writers of memoir in the New York Times Sunday Book Review.
- JK Rowling shares rejection letters she received from publishers in hopes of inspiring contemporary authors with rejection.
- Literary agent Ryan Wahl of Holloway Literary is seeking folks to represent in literary fiction, upmarket fiction, and young adult novels.
- James Patterson is launching a new venture called Bookshots to produce plot-driven, novella-length books under $5 and fewer than 150 words in hopes of encouraging more book reading.
