The Masters Review Interviews Series

The Masters Review aims to bridge the gap between new and established writers through valuable insight into the profession of writing through our interview series. We are particularly interested in conversations with writers, editors, and agents affiliated with small and independent presses or boutique agencies. We do publish interviews with established writers, but the bulk of our conversations are with writers who have published no more than two novel-length books.

We prefer a focus on recent publications or activity. Submit your completed interviews through Submittable. Conversations are typically between 1,200 – 2,500 words. We are unfortunately unable to offer compensation for interviews at the moment.

If you would like to be interviewed by The Masters Review, please either e-mail a digital ARC to jen [at] mastersreview.com with INTERVIEW included the subject line, OR, mail a physical copy to the address below. Although we’d love to highlight everyone’s recent work, our publishing calendar is limited.

At The Masters Review, our mission is to support emerging writers. We only accept submissions from writers who can benefit from a larger platform: typically, writers without published novels or story collections or with low circulation. We publish fiction and nonfiction online year-round and put out an annual anthology of the ten best emerging writers in the country, judged by an expert in the field. We publish craft essays, interviews and book reviews and hold workshops that connect emerging and established writers.
