One Month Left! The Masters Review Anthology Judged by Roxane Gay – Closes March 31

There is exactly one month left to submit to Volume VI of our anthology, a showcase of today’s best emerging writers. We accept stories and essays up to 8000 words until midnight on March 31, so get the polish on those pieces and SUBMIT! This year’s contest is judged by the incredible Roxane Gay. The prize awards ten writers publication, $500, and national distribution, which includes an exclusive mailing to agents and editors. Submission Guidelines:

  • fiction and narrative nonfiction only
  • 8000 word count maximum
  • international submissions allowed
  • simultaneous and multiple submissions are allowed, but please inform us if your story has been accepted elsewhere
  • previously unpublished work only
  • emerging writers only: cannot have a novel published at the time of submission (self-published authors and writers with published story collections are free to submit. Authors with a contract for a novel are also free to submit.)
  • $20 reading fee per story
  • excerpts from longer works are welcome but the story or essay must work as a standalone piece
